A2IDEAS Executive Director Awarded Volunteerism Scholarship from the Michigan Nonprofit Association
A2IDEAS is pleased to announce Heather Eckner has been selected to receive the Sara Ballard Volunteerism Scholarship providing support to attend the 2019 Points of Light Conference on Volunteering and Service being held in St. Paul, Minnesota June 18-20.
The scholarship fund was established in memory of Ms. Sara Ballard to support continuing education around volunteer mobilization, which is work Ms. Ballard believed in deeply.
“Nonprofits rely on the support of their community to exist so that they may address a need. Board service and other volunteer roles are some of the ways community members engage in the mission to realize impact,” said Ms. Eckner. “With the unique approach and practices presented at the Points of Light Conference, we hope to bring that energy to our advocacy work in Washtenaw County.”
The Points of Light Conference is the world’s largest service-related convening, providing a singular opportunity for thousands to come together to collaborate and ensure the social sector continues to grow and innovate in this rapidly changing world.
A2IDEAS is a nonprofit organization committed to ongoing individual and systemic advocacy efforts. We provide guidance and support to families navigating the challenging process of securing special education services with the goal of ensuring greater access to inclusion and meaningful educational opportunities.
